Islamabad Overview

In 1958 a commission was set up and entrusted with the task of looking for a suitable site for the National Capital - Islamabad. The interesting Islamabad overview reveals that the commission emphasized on certain factors like location, climate, logistic, defence requirements, aesthetics, scenic and natural beauty. The location for the new Capital City had been carefully chosen. The commission also conducted a feasibility study and finally after a thorough review of various sites, it decided on the Northeast of Rawalpindi. After this location was decided, there was no turning back. From the careful Islamabad overview we find that in contrast to its twin city Rawalpindi, it is lush green, spacious and peaceful. Many visitors have reportedly opted for the hustle bustle of Rawalpindi but Islamabad has all the embassies and some other very useful institutions for travelers.

Your informative Islamabad overview will tell you that the city has a couple of good museums that you can go to while on your visit to the city. You could head for Garden avenue to see the Islamabad Museum and the Natural History Museum. Besides these a detailed Islamabad overview will list all tourist spots in the city like the new Cultural Museum and the Lok Virsa in Islamabad is a must see.

The city offers ample opportunities for walking, jogging, hiking and trekking in Margalla Hills in Islamabad. You are likely to meet a lot of foreigners in this place since people from all across the world come here. Being a popular city there are flights to Islamabad that you can take. Islamabad is also served well by road routes. There are so many things to do in Islamabad like shopping, eating out, being a part of Islamabad festivals and events and more sightseeing in Islamabad.

It is said that this city is the best for those who do not want to visit one of those typical tourist areas. But if you are looking for excitement and a lot of noise then this is not the city for you. Pakistan is host to more than 25 airlines from over 40 countries.
Most of the flights arrive at Karachi but PIA, British Airways, Saudia and China Xinjiang Airlines fly to the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. PIA has direct flights from the main Mediterranean and European cities as well as New York, Toronto and Nairobi. It also runs a Far East Network from Tokyo, Beijing, Djakarta, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok. PIA serves 38 domestic airports with scheduled connections including multiple daily flights between major cities of Punjab like Multan, Lahore, Islamabad/Rawalpindi and Peshawar. It has daily flights to Rawalpindi/Islamabad. Ethihad connects London to Islamabad/Rawalpindi as also does Brussels Airlines.
